Idiot, Idiot, Idiot ...

I did a lovely cake for The Bawdy Caste's anniversary party last weekend. I was all set to upload the photos today. I opened up my camera, and ... there was no memory card inside. Where was it? Still in the card reader from my last upload.

Good News: The photos are still saved in the camera itself.

Bad News: I need to find the cable that plugs the camera into the computer for download. (It doesn't take a standard USB.) Man, I hope it's still on my desk at home somewhere ...

if so...i have a bunch of them at home. i could bring one to you at rocky? (just the cable...not the other adapter bits)

It appears to be. Hard to tell from the photo. It's a smaller socket than a standard USB port.

No Rocky this weekend, but I'll be at the Bay Con meeting Sunday. We could try it then.

With a lot of cameras that have internal memory, there's a command somewhere in the menus that lets you copy images from internal memory onto a card. You pop a blank card in, you choose the "copy images to the card" command, you pop the card out and put it in your card reader.

What model of camera do you have? Maybe I can track down the manual and see if it does something like this.
