A random observation from the weekend ...

Chai Tea
Yesterday, Tom and I went to the "To Life!" Jewish street festival in Palo Alto. A choir that my mom belongs to was singing, so we went to hear her. Afterwards, we walked around the booths, and we realized something:

Tom is Irish and looks stereotypically Jewish (that's the Greek part of him); I am Jewish and look stereotypically Irish (still no idea where that came from).

You know, as Officer Avi O'Reilly said..."Irish Jew in the name of the law!"

Jewish and pretty much anything else are not mutually exclusive. We're EVERYWHERE, y'know. ;)

This is true, but I noticed people were reacting towards us as if he were Jewish and I wasn't.

That's funny. I'm very Irish and had time in my 20s where I did a long string of shows where the roles I landed were all very specifically Jewish.

My dad used to be mistaken as Jewish, he's part Black Irish (which is part Portuguese)... so go figure!
